We get it - sometimes the vanilla experience isn't for everyone - sometimes you need a bit more variety to keep things fresh. Thankfully it's relatively easy to mod Squad - especially if you're a Southnode customer.

How to...

If you're a Southnode customer this becomes really easy:

  1. Login to your Game Server instance
  2. Go to Configuration > SteamCMD and Updates
  3. In the top-left corner, you can add the workshop AppID's of your mods to your server - these will be updated when the server is updated.
  4. Once all workshop AppID's are added to the server, go back to the Status page, and click "Update" - this will update your server and download the mods you specified earlier.
  5. Once that's done, start your server - the mod will be loaded

Please bare in mind that many of these mods have specific maps they need in order to run. Please ensure these are present in your LayerRotation.cfg file.

Additionally - there is currently a long-standing bug with Squad that a server will not start on a modded map - it must first start on a vanilla map, then be switched to a modded map. There is no way around this and the developers have known of this bug for years.
